Our son Tommy who is 6 years old was diagnosed 8 months ago (February 2007) with Type 1 Diabetes. He will have this disease for the rest of his life unless they find a cure.

We are trying to raise money because we need a specially trained dog for Tommy. Her name is Sarah and she can help to save Tommy's life as well as help him have the confidence he needs for the best quality of life, just like any other 6 year old. Sarah (the dog) is scent trained to detect when his body's blood sugar goes too low and to help prevent a diabetic coma. Tommy is very brave and administers all 4 of his needles a day, not to mention all finger pricks through out the day. He is a trooper. Tommy loves to play with his brothers and loves art and baseball.

His brothers Zach 5 and Christopher 3 are always looking out for him, they have even learned how to give him his needles and are always asking him if he feels ok and if he should check his sugar.

We need to raise $6,000. Any extra money that we raise will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help other children in need.

Any and all donations are appreciated. You may mail a check or pay through PayPal with a check or credit card.
